Francesco Matarrese 1978. Le refus du travail abstrait en art
En 1973 à la Galerie Toselli de Milan, point de référence du post-minimalisme international, Roberto Comini et Francesco Matarrese entamèrent une collaboration pour la construction d'un laboratoire d'art-dialectique. L'expérience, brève, se termina en 1975 mais représente la première réelle tentative d'émanciper la ligne « négative » de la néo-avant-garde italienne en faveur d'une autoréflexivité majeure et d'un développement linguistique en art. La nouvelle activité artistique de Comini et de Matarrese s'inséra dans le naissant débat post-conceptuel par une forte contribution de critique idéologique et déconstructive, qui se développa par des expositions personnelles et des écrits-programmes.
Dans ce numero, Dialectique publie des documents récents des deux artistes.

Francesco Matarrese 1978. The refusal of abstract labour in art
In 1973, at the Toselli Gallery of Milan, Italy, point of reference of the international post-minimalism, Roberto Comini and Francesco Matarrese began collaboration in order to carry out a laboratory of art-dialectic. The experience, short, finished in 1975 but represented the first real attempt to emancipate “the negative” line of the new Italian vanguard promoting a greater auto-reflection and linguistic development in art. The artistic activity of Comini and Matarrese became part in the post-conceptual debate, as soon as begun, by a strong contribution of ideological and demolishing critic, which manifested itself through one-man shows and platform contents.
New results appeared at the end of the seventies. Art-Dialectics got emancipated in forms of new resistance and refusal.
We offer our readers some documents (partly unpublished) of that time, together with a present reflection.

Nel 1973 presso la Galleria Toselli di Milano, punto di riferimento del postminimalismo internazionale, Roberto Comini e Francesco Matarrese iniziarono una collaborazione per la costruzione di un laboratorio di arte-dialettica. L’esperienza, breve, terminò nel 1975 ma rappresentò il primo reale tentativo di emancipare la linea “negativa” della neoavanguardia italiana in favore di una maggiore autoriflessività e processualità linguistica in arte. L’attività artistica di Comini e Matarrese si inserì nel dibattito post-concettuale, appena iniziato, con un forte contributo di critica ideologica e decostruttiva, che si esplicitò attraverso mostre personali e scritti programmatici.
Nuovi risultati apparvero alla fine degli anni settanta. Arte-Dialettica si era emancipata in forme di nuova resistenza e rifiuto.
Si offrono al lettore alcuni documenti del tempo (in parte inediti) con una riflessione attuale.
